MAINTENANCE AND CONTRACTS

Domestic pest control contracts

Most people would not think that a pest control contract would be an option for them. However, it may be something to consider if you live in a high-risk area,  for instance close to a train embankment, wooded area, stream or river, near food establishments or even in a tenement building. These locations have  higher risk of pests making their way into your property, so residents should monitor for them throughout the year.

For less than a pound a day, we can offer 24/7 coverage for your home.  A pest control contract offers reassurance and peace of mind; we will be on standby for any potential infestations and deal with them before they have a chance to establish themselves. For those with a phobia of rodents, it’s a relief to know any future problems will be dealt with as soon as they arise.

Commercial pest control contracts

Under section 21 of the Food Safety Act (1990), all food business are required to take pest control measures to show due diligence to ensure the safety of the public. This requirement is often overlooked by restaurants and takeaways until an infestation has occurred or Environmental Health Officers (EHO) find evidence. This can lead to a temporary or permanent closure of a business. Losing damaged stock and earnings during a close-down may cost thousands of pounds, but, more detrimentally, cause a business to lose customers’ trust.

Rather than being reactive, the best advice we can give is to have a proactive approach by investing in a commercial pest control contract. Not only will you have a folder full of all the necessary documents and reports that will satisfy any EHO checks, but you will also be able to relax knowing that your business is being taken care of. We will highlight any pest-proofing issues and areas of improvement long before environmental health visits are due.

A commercial pest control contract isn’t just for food businesses, though. No staff member wants to see rats or mice running around their workplace. Rodents carry many pathogens, and an infestation may be a risk to employees’ health. Industrial parks tend to have a high risk of rodents as they are typically out of the way and very quiet at night, giving rats and mice peace and freedom to roam around undisturbed.
