Wasp removal in Edinburgh and the Lothians

WASPS AND BEES

Spring/Summer is the time for wasps and bees. Lots of them!

How to safely remove a wasp nest

Wasps have a pretty mean reputation, and with good reason. With numbers reaching up to a staggering 10,000 inside the nest during the peak of the season, we strongly advise against treating a large nest without suitable protective clothing and training. When a nest is disturbed the wasps rally to its defence and because they can sting many times, this can be quite dangerous, potentially resulting in hospitalisation. We always recommend calling the experts in pest control in to deal with the problem safely and efficiently.

Wasp nest removal cost

Because we’re a local and family-run business, we can keep costs low for you and your family.  We have the training and equipment necessary to remove wasps quickly; with Lightning Pest Specialists you get expert service at a very affordable rate. If you somehow find a cheaper quote from a reputable company, we promise to beat that price!

Bee removal and rescue

Typically, you will start to see bees becoming more prevalent in your garden as the first spring flowers bloom, usually a large bumblebee doing the pollination rounds will be the first obvious spot but with over 250 species of bees in the UK, you should be able to spot one or two other varieties along the way. It’s handy to get to know some of the more obscure varieties as some can get mistakenly identified as wasps.

Performing pest control in Edinburgh and the Lothians, the first job to undertake is to correctly identify the species and determine where the nest is located. Rehoming bees will be our top priority or putting you in touch with a local beekeeper for the removal of a honeybee swarm. Sometimes, despite all our efforts, the bees may not be accessible for nest rescue, and we would need to look at other options.
